This is Christine, also known as my Little Girl. I have been calling her this since the spring of 2005, when we met at ESU and decided to pledge a sorority. We can probably both agree this was one of the silliest decisions we ever made...but a decision we wouldn't regret for one second. This pledging process created a bond some can only dream of. I won't go into details, but I will say the combination of Vaseline and sprinkles does wonders for a friendship. I realized that during this time, my name for Christine was literally correct, but with amount of grit this girl has and the punch she packs, her looks can be very deceiving. But still, this was her name. So it remained. :)
After graduation, we continued to remain close in proximity for several more years, which was very convenient for our friendship and the desire to make college last longer than 8 semesters. Time passed, we grew up, (thank goodness) moved further than 10 miles away from each other, got married and had babies. During this time, we stood by each others' sides when we married our husbands, and made the best efforts we could to get together with little ones under 3 running our social lives. We kind of stunk at meeting up as much as we wanted to, but in hindsight, it solidified to me that our friendship is one for the books. When you can go months, years even, without seeing someone, and pick up right where you left off as if no time has passed; this, to me, is friendship.
Christine ended up marrying her college boyfriend Jeff, who is a rare gem and her true soulmate. They have two beautiful children, Gabriel & Havana. Gabe is a little love bug and makes it impossible not to fall for him immediately after locking eyes with this 5 year old. I mean, c'mon ladies, look at him!! And then there's Havi. She's just a little snack from the outside, but do not be fooled...this girl has her mother's genes. So look out world! This next generation is going to make a difference, and I love having a front row seat to watch it with one of my truest and closest friends.
