Last Friday, I had a photoshoot with this amazing and amazingly large family. Total transparency, I was nervous. This was by far the largest group I have shot, and so the pressure was on to get that perfect shot where everyone is looking, smiling, in focus, etc. It's always funny because although these shots are great (and usually what grandparents LOVE hanging on their walls,) it's all of the in-between moments that I love the most. Lucy & Rick are the parents of Derek, Jason and Emily. Lucy & Rick raised their three children on one of the most beautiful farms and pieces of land that exists around this area. The three Kuiper children married Minal, Lindsay, & Ayan, (respectively) and started families of their own, living in three different cities, Tampa, Atlanta, and Boston. They all made the trip home for one last hoorah at their parents' nastalgic childhood home. During this fun and laid back session, the grandchildren (Layla, Nora, Calen, & Reed) seemed to feel like they were in a place where Disneyland meets Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. These 4 cousins (and seemingly best friends!) played on their grandfather's enormous tractor that holds so many memories in itself, and ate an endless supply of berries out of the garden. The Kuiper children reminisced about having a legitimate 9-hole golf course in their backyard! When they brought me to the backside of their property, I can easily believe they did. The fur grandbabies in this story are Cilo & Lizzy, and from the photos, you can only begin to imagine the fun they had running around on what felt like a never-ending landscape. The amazing people I was able to meet and reconnect with, beautiful scenery, & breathtaking lighting made this photoshoot one for the ages. It's going to be hard coming close to this trifecta of perfection again, but I am certainly up for the challenge!
